Celebrating One Wild Year of The Wild Wellness Blog
May 19, 2025Today marks one whole year since I published the very first Wild Wellness blog. 365 days since I said yes to a calling that had been whispering to me for years—a quiet nudge in my chest that kept saying, write it, share it, release it.
Exactly one year ago today, I did something that had been sitting on my heart (and my choose-to-do list) for far too long.
I pressed publish and just like that, the Wild Wellness Blog was born.
What began as a tender whisper has blossomed into an ever-evolving space where words flow freely, passions are celebrated, soulful stories are shared, creativity is nurtured, vulnerability is welcomed, wisdom is exchanged and hearts are met with compassion and authenticity.
If you know anything about me, you will know how much I love to celebrate. I celebrate birthdays and moon phases, the first rain after a dry spell, the success of a stranger and especially moments like this—where a dream becomes a reality. I celebrate the little wins and the big milestones, the first sip of tea on a slow morning, the feeling of sunshine on my skin, the way music moves my body, a new PB while running, the satisfaction of lifting heavier in the gym and the beauty of a deep, soul-stirring conversation. I celebrate growth—the kind that happens quietly, behind the scenes—and the courage it takes to begin again. I celebrate ordinary magic, everyday miracles and the wild wonder of simply being alive.
Today I am choosing self-celebration!
I also invite you to do the same because every time we choose to celebrate ourselves—not just for the big wins, but for the brave beginnings, the quiet consistency, the messy middle—we remind ourselves that we are worthy. That our voice matters. That progress, no matter how slow, is sacred.
When naming the blog, Wild Wellness felt like a divine unfolding captured in a name. The name wasn’t chosen lightly—it was a full-bodied soul-yes. An invocation of the wild woman within—the one who lives guided by intuition, follows her heart, dances with the moon, questions convention and honours the sacred cycles of body, mind and earth. It speaks to the untamed parts of me—and maybe you too—that yearn to be seen, felt and fully expressed. It reflects a kind of holistic healing that is anything but linear. It is wild like the wind, wise like ancient roots and rhythmic like the tides.
It honours the wild woman archetype who leads with heart, fierce softness, courage and deep inner knowing.
This is a type of wellness that doesn’t fit into boxes but instead blooms in moonlight and mud like a lotus. A type of wellness fueled by rituals, rhythm and realness.
Oh, the rituals. Breathwork, movement, moon musings, mirror work, emotional alchemy, nourishing the nervous system—wild wellness is more a devotion than just a destination.
A whole year later, I can confidently say this name will only continue to grow with me.
Before I go any further, I want to say thank you from the depths of my heart.
To my loyal readers—my blood family, soul family, kindred spirits and curious wanderers who have stumbled upon this space—thank you. Whether you have read one blog or every single one, your presence is deeply felt.
To the readers who open each post with curiosity.
To the family and friends who cheer me on.
To my soul sisters and spiritual fam who truly see me.
To the quiet lurkers (I mean that in the most loving way), the generous sharers, thoughtful responders and wild-hearted wanderers. THANK YOU.
You remind me why this space matters so much.
Your comments, messages and support keep the fire lit.
Knowing how full life can be, the fact that you choose to spend your precious time here fills me not just with happiness but with deep joy and immense gratitude.
Your reflections, your feedback, your beautiful words they feed the heart and soul of this blog. Every time you reach out, I feel the spark of connection and the thread of shared humanity. You have helped me stay committed in the moments motivation started to waver. You have reminded me I am not alone.
My hope is that this space reminds you of the same.
I have loved reading and writing for as long as I can remember. In primary school, I would get lost in the world of creative writing. In year 10 of high school (2005), I became a devoted journaler. Since then, words have become my compass, my soft landing place to untangle my thoughts, my creative playground and often my sanctuary.
Blogging allowed me to weave together this love of language, my passion for wellness, and my joy for sharing what I have lived, learned and loved while exploring the jungle of life.
Over the past year, this blog has danced through a variety of themes—each one woven with curiosity, reflection and a whole lot of heart. Here is a taste of the topics we have explored together over the past 12 months
❣️ Breathwork, intuitive movement and the wisdom of the body
❣️ Emotional intelligence, embodiment and nervous system regulation
❣️ Holistic self-care rituals and daily practices that nourish deeply
❣️ The sacred act of coming home to yourself
❣️ Cycle syncing, hormonal health and aligning with natural rhythms
❣️ Vision therapy, neuroscience and the brain-body connection
❣️ The art and science of how we see beyond sight
❣️ Grief, growth, shame and the alchemy of healing
❣️ Ancient wisdom from goddesses, myths and sacred archetypes
❣️ Wonderful, wild and inspirational women and their wisdom
❣️ Creative expression, mirror work and spiritual rituals
❣️ The power of language, storytelling and emotional truth
❣️ Book reflections, soul-shifting quotes and the authors who have changed me
❣️ Soul musings and travel reflections from sacred places
❣️ Holistic lifestyle swaps and eco-conscious wellness choices
❣️ Plant medicine, natural health and tuning into the cycles and produce of nature
And the best part? There is still so much more to come...
Every post has been an offering from the heart. A culmination of lived experience, soulful study and wild wonder.
Some blogs have come from the quiet of a journal page, others were born mid-run, post-retreat or after deep, soul-stirring conversations. Some arrived in the hush of reflection, others during late-night epiphanies or while scribbling notes at conferences and seminars. They reflect the books in my library of life—and the lived experiences I have chosen to share. Some allowed me to fully geek out on the brain and body (which I love), while others emerged raw, real and beautifully messy.
The Wild Wellness Blog almost didn’t begin.
I sat on this idea for almost three years.
Why?
Because I knew I would go deep.
I knew I would share truths that stirred emotion.
I was even afraid I would run out of things to speak about (clearly this hasn’t been a challenge ☺️). I feared judgment. I doubted myself.
Something kept whispering, start anyway.
In May 2024, something shifted. My heart led. My fingers followed and the words unleashed like a tidal wave of feeling that could no longer be contained.
These words were never meant to stay hidden.
They were meant to flow, touch, move, stir, connect.
Writing is catharsis. Writing is my ritual. Writing is the bridge between my heart and yours.
The internet is a wild place. The beautiful truth is that no matter how weird, wonderful or wildly niche your interests are—there is always someone out there who gets it.
Thanks to this blog, I have connected with souls from all around the world—people I may never have met otherwise, both in-person and virtually. From fellow practitioners to poetry lovers, brain nerds to barefoot wild women—your energy has added to mine. Together, we co-create every post.
Let me get real with you for a moment. There is a whole lot of AI-generated content out there now.
Here is what I know: a blog without a human heart is soulless.
My blog, The Wild Wellness Blog is not just information. It is infused with breath, with life, with love and most importantly with me. You, my dear reader, are also part of that infusion.
Blogging without readers is lonely.
Blogging with a community—even a quiet one—is electric.
Thank you for reading, for receiving, for reflecting, for responding. You help make this space better with each visit.
I could write an entire blog dedicated to the lessons I have learned from one year of blogging—because truly, each post has been its own teacher. Time, growth, and experience have offered their gentle (and sometimes wild) guidance through the writing process.
While the journey has been layered with many insights, here are the lessons that have really stood out:
Wild Lesson 1. Starting is the Hardest Part: I nearly let fear and self-doubt keep this blog from ever being born. I waited for the “right time”for far too long, as there is no perfect time. There is only now.
Wild Lesson 2. Consistency is the kindling. Confidence is the fire that creates momentum: Whether I felt inspired or not, I kept showing up and that consistency helped me build a new level of trust in myself, trust in my voice and trust in this path I am walking. Show up for yourself, again and again, and let the fire grow. Every time you return to a practice—be it movement, writing, breathwork, setting a standard or simply choosing yourself—you plant a seed of trust. Trust is the root of real, grounded confidence. Show up for yourself, again and again and again as you let the fire grow.
Wild Lesson 3. It’s Okay to Be Vulnerable: Some of my favourite blogs have touched on deeply personal themes—emotional healing, grief, self-doubt, feminine power, burnout, shame. The most resonant words are the ones that come from embodied truth not perfection. The more honest I am, the more connection is created. Vulnerability truly is a bridge, not a weakness.
Wild Lesson 4. Your Voice Doesn’t Have to Be for Everyone: And it won’t be. That’s okay. Some people resonate deeply, others won’t. What matters most is that I’m honouring my truth.
Wild Lesson 5. Feedback is Fertiliser: I thrive on feedback. Feedback fuels me. It’s how I grow as a writer, a guide, a wild woman and as a humble human. It helps shape future posts, clarify ideas and remind me of the impact this blog can have. So thank you—truly—for your words.
Wild Lesson 6. Creativity Is Meant to Be Shared: For years, I kept my writing to myself. But creativity wants to be witnessed. A blog isn’t just a container—it’s a connection point. And writing is never just about the writer. It’s a conversation.
Wild Lesson 7. Human Touch Matters now More Than Ever: In the age of AI and automation, blogs filled with real emotion, lived experience, soul, and story are more important than ever. Readers can feel the difference. A blog without personality is flat. A blog with heart? Alive.
Wild Lesson 8. Creativity ebbs and flows—ride the waves. Some days the words pour out like a waterfall. Other days, the page stays blank. I’ve learned not to force it. Rest is part of the rhythm. Inspiration returns when I trust the cycles of creativity just as I trust the moon, my cycle, and the seasons.
Wild Lesson 9. The messy middle matters and is medicine as not every blog is polished perfection. Some posts have typos. Others ramble or surprise me with unexpected depth. But that’s the beauty of it—it’s all part of the process. The messy middle is where magic brews and where growth lives.
Wild Lesson 10. You don’t need a huge audience to make an impact: Some of the most powerful feedback has come from just one person who read a blog and felt it. Connection isn’t measured in likes or shares. It is measured in moments of resonance. You never know who is quietly being moved by your words
Wild Lesson 11. Sharing from the Heart is Brave: It’s not easy to put your heart on the page. Every time I share something personal or vulnerable, there’s a moment of fear. But each time, I grow a little stronger. Sharing is an act of courage and it builds courage in others too.
Wild Lesson 12. Blogging is a spiritual practice: It’s not just writing—it’s ritual. It’s showing up, tuning in, asking what wants to be spoken, and letting spirit move through my fingertips. Blogging has become one of my most beautiful forms of devotion.
Wild Lesson 13. Inspiration is everywhere: In books, conversations, travel, client sessions, breathwork circles, nature walks, dreams, breakdowns, breakthroughs. The world is always whispering ideas—you just have to listen.
Wild Lesson 14. A blog is a living, breathing organism: It evolves as I evolve. The topics I explored a year ago are growing, deepening, shifting with me. This blog is not a static platform—it’s a companion on my journey.
Wild Lesson 15. There is so much power in hitting “publish”: Each time I hit that button, I am declaring: I trust my voice. I trust the timing. I trust that whoever needs these words will find them. That single click has become an act of reclamation.
Wild Lesson 16. Readers are part of the alchemy: It’s not just what I write—it’s how it’s received. The reflections, the emails, the quiet nods of resonance from afar. Every reader adds something to the energy of this space.
Wild Lesson 17. Not every post will land (or even be read)—and that’s okay: Some blogs get loved-up instantly. Others barely make a ripple. I have learned not to tie my worth to how each blog is received. The writing itself is the reward. The connection is a beautiful bonus.
WIld Lesson 18. Blogging teaches patience: Sometimes I desire growth and traction overnight but just like wellness, blogging is a slow burn. It’s about the long game. Nourishing the roots. Trusting the seeds will bloom in their own time.
Wild Lesson 19: The stories you are afraid to tell are often the ones people desire most: When you write from the tender edge of your truth, you give others permission to meet themselves there too.
Wild Lesson 20: My voice doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful. Some of the most profound responses have come from the quietest posts—the ones written from stillness and soul.
Wild Lesson 21: Every post is a conversation with the unseen. I often don’t realise who I’m reaching—but the ones who need it always find it.
Wild Lesson 22: Writing is a way home. No matter where I have wandered—writing brings me back to the heart of who I am.

Stay tuned for the next post, where I will be sharing a collection of the most-loved blogs by you—based on shares, comments, saves and page views!
Today I know—deep in my bones—that writing is meant to connect, not be kept hidden in secret folders or dusty journals. Words are medicine when shared.
They are sparks of recognition, bridges of belonging, whispers of “me too.”
Can you imagine what the world would have missed if the great writers, poets, and thinkers of history had let fear stop them?
If Maya Angelou never shared her poems about identity, resilience and rising despite pain.
If Virginia Woolf had never dared to discuss her mental health or her reflections on the place of a woman in society.
If Sylvia Plath never explored her tumultuous relationship with Ted Hughes, the dark complexities of grief, loss and the “daddy” wounds that haunted her.
If Rumi kept his divine longing and spiritual poetry locked away in his heart.
If bell hooks never gave language to love, feminism and justice.
If Brené Brown kept her shame research to herself.
If Glennon Doyle never turned her brokenness into beauty and truth.
If Anne Franks diary remained unread.
These writers cracked themselves open so we could find healing in the echoes.
Their courage to speak is what created change, comfort and community.
I ask myself—who might I be withholding light from by staying silent?
If we stay quiet—what healing and connection are we withholding from the world?
To me, blogging is about storytelling with purpose.
It’s about lighting one candle and trusting it will light another.
It’s about reminding you (and myself) that our stories echo each other in unexpected ways
Thank you for celebrating me and for celebrating with me.
Reaching 100 blogs was a milestone. But this? This wild, wonderful year has been a full-bodied, heart-wide, soul-deep celebration.
For nearly three years, I doubted myself.
I worried about being too much, not enough, too honest, not polished, too wild, not subtle, too opinionated.
Here is something I have realised:
The things we fear are often the very things that set us free.
Wild Wellness is not just a blog.
It’s a body of work.
A space to witness, reflect, unravel, reclaim.
A love letter to the messy, magnificent human experience.
Thank you—for being here, for reading, for celebrating.
This isn’t the end of a chapter, it’s the ignition of the next one.
Until next time, with a wild and grateful heart keep choosing your wild.
xx
