The Synergy of Intuitive Guidance & Vision Therapy

In the holistic health landscape of society, there are many practices that converge to provide comprehensive care for the mind, body and soul. Being a Vision Therapist and an Intuitive Wellness Guide is a perfect example of this. While they may seem distinct at first glance, these roles share significant overlap in their approach to health and wellbeing. In this blog post, I will share more on the connection between these two passions of mine.

In case you missed the first official post of the Wild Wellness Blog, as an Intuitive Wellness Guide, I support individuals in achieving overall wellbeing by tapping into their inner knowing – their intuition. This involves understanding the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs of each client and offering guidance that aligns with their unique journey. As an Intuitive Wellness Guide, I use a variety of tools, such as breathwork, meditation and lifestyle recommendations, to guide clients in achieving balance and harmony.

You are probably thinking, what on earth is a Vision Therapist? This is a question I get on a weekly basis, and I absolutely love it because it means I get to introduce more people around the world to this transformative practice to the incredible power of the visual system especially when it comes to doing a multi-sensory task.

Vision therapy is a specialised field that focuses on improving visual skills and processing. I work with individuals of all ages who have visual challenges, such as binocular vision disorders, eye tracking problems, and visual perceptual issues, some of whom have been impacted by an acquired or traumatic brain injury. Through personalised procedures and exercises, I provide each client the opportunity to enhance their visual function, which has a significant impact on overall quality of life.

The roles of an Intuitive Wellness Guide and a Vision Therapist may appear distinct, they overlap in several meaningful ways.

With each client, I adopt a holistic approach to health, understanding that physical symptoms often have underlying emotional or spiritual elements, and that true healing involves addressing the whole person. This perspective is central to both my roles and allows for a deeper, more comprehensive form of care.

Personalised care and customisation is key. Intuitive wellness guidance allows me to take each client on a journey based on their unique energy and needs. In Vision Therapy each session is carefully planned to address the visual, learning and developmental challenges of each individual. This personalised approach ensures that clients and patients receive the most effective care.

I recognise the importance of the eye-brain-body connection. As an Intuitive Wellness Guide, I integrate practices that enhance mental and emotional wellbeing, which can impact physical health. As a Vision Therapist I understand that visual processing is closely linked to cognitive and emotional function and that improving vision will lead to better quality of life.

In the world of Intuitive Guidance I support clients as they develop self-awareness and mindfulness, which can lead to improved decision making from a greater level of clarity. In Vision Therapy sessions, I also promote mindfulness through exercises that require focused attention and awareness, helping clients become more attuned or connected to their visual experiences, their breath and emotional state.

Both practices offer tools and techniques to calm the body and mind. With Intuitive wellness guidance I often discuss the energy of emotions, use meditation, breathwork and other relaxation methods, while Vision Therapy allows me to include exercises that help relax the eyes and improve visual comfort, allowing the client to move with more grace and ease.

When the foundations of intuitive wellness and vision therapy are combined, clients are able to experience synergistic benefits that enhance their overall health and wellbeing.

Integrating intuitive wellness practices can guide vision therapy clients as they address the emotional and mental aspects of their visual challenges, leading to more holistic and deeper level of healing.

Connecting mindfulness and self-awareness techniques from intuitive wellness with vision therapy exercises can boost cognitive function and mental clarity. This dual approach incorporates both relaxation techniques and strategies for visual, emotional and physical comfort.

Each client is taken on a journey where they learn to take a more proactive role in their health by integrating insights from both intuitive wellness and vision therapy, leading to empowerment and long-term wellbeing. I encourage clients to be fully present and aware during their vision therapy sessions, which allows me to provide them with a comprehensive health plan that addresses both visual and overall wellness.

I encourage clients to be fully present and aware during their visual therapy sessions. This allows me to provide clients with a comprehensive health plan that addresses both visual and overall wellness.

I often use breathwork and sometimes guided meditations before or after vision therapy sessions to enhance relaxation and effectiveness of the procedures.

My holistic approach to health and wellness is highlighted with the overlap between Intuitive Guidance and Vision Therapy.

By recognising the connections between physical, mental and emotional wellbeing I am able to offer more comprehensive and effective care. Embracing the synergy between these practices leads to enhanced health outcomes and a deeper sense of overall wellness for each client as they achieve a state of awareness, balance, connection and harmony.

Tomorrow, I'll be flying to the beautiful Gold Coast to attend the National ACBO Conference "Connect 2024 - Patient & Practice Success." I am thrilled about this opportunity to connect with colleagues I admire & appreciate as we dive deep into two days of learning and professional growth.

This conference promises to be enriching experience with sessions on Vision Therapy, Autism, Sight and Vision, along with the latest techniques in managing Strabismus. I am particularly looking forward to the keynote presentations and workshops from Dr. Brenda Montecalvo and Dr. Angela Peddie as they will undoubtedly provide invaluable insights. Beyond the knowledge, I'm excited about the chance to connect with fellow Behavioral Optometrists and Vision Therapist.

I am grateful on a daily basis that I am able to explore and integrate the wisdom of intuitive wellness and vision therapy, as I share my knowledge and passion with the world.
