Thank you for choosing to visit theWild Wellness Blog.

Today, I want to share a deeply personal journey that I am sure many of us can relate to: the journey from living in our heads to living from our hearts. It is a path filled with obstacles, discoveries and profound transformations.

Keep reading to explore what guided me from the realm of overthinking and micromanaging to a place of deep feeling and real connection.

For a long time, I lived predominantly in my head. My mind was constantly buzzing with thoughts, plans, worries and what-ifs. I relied heavily on logic and rationality, often suppressing my emotions and intuitive feelings. While this helped me navigate certain aspects of life, it also left me feeling extremely disconnected and unfulfilled. I realised that something essential was missing—a deeper connection to myself and to others.

My wake-up call came during a period of intense discomfort and burnout. I was juggling multiple responsibilities, trying to meet expectations of others, and ignoring the signals my body and heart were sending me.

One day, it all became too much, and I found myself overwhelmed and exhausted. This moment of chaos was a catalyst for change. I knew I needed to reconnect with my heart and find a more balanced way of living.

I am honoured to be able to share the 6 step Journey from Head to Heart…. okay, okay there were a few more than just 6 steps but it all started by embracing Vulnerability.

One of the first steps on my journey was learning to embrace vulnerability. I chose to acknowledge and face my fears, insecurities and the protective walls I had built around my heart. By allowing myself to be vulnerable, I began to feel more deeply and show up more authentically.

Wild Tip: Start by sharing your feelings with a trusted friend or journaling about your emotions. Vulnerability is a strength, rather than a weakness. It is the gateway to deeper connections and self-awareness.

Mindfulness practices became an essential part of my journey. By practicing mindfulness, I learned to quiet my mind and tune into the sensations of my body and the whispers from my heart. Simple practices like mindful breathing, meditation and intuitive movement helped me stay present and connected to my inner self.

Wild Tip: Set aside time each day for a mindfulness practice. Even a few minutes of mindful breathing can help you shift from your head to your heart.

Intuition is the language of the heart. I started listening to and  trusting my intuition and paying attention to my gut feelings and inner whispers, knowing that they had valuable insights to offer. This required me to let go of my need for rational explanations and embrace the mystery of my inner knowing.

Wild Tip: When faced with a decision, take a moment to tune into your body and notice how each option feels. Trust your intuition and let it guide you.

Connecting with Nature and her unique way of grounding us and connecting us to our hearts is so supportive. Spending time in nature, walking in a park, hiking in the mountains or simply sitting by the ocean, has helped me on multiple occasions to reconnect with my true essence. The natural world reminds me of the beauty and simplicity of living from the heart.

Wild Tip: Make it a habit to spend time in nature regularly. Allow yourself to be present and soak in the healing energy of the natural world.

Practicing Self-compassion was and still is a crucial part of my journey. I had to learn to be gentle with myself, to forgive my mistakes, and to treat myself with the same kindness I would offer a friend. Self-compassion guided me so graciously to soften my heart and embrace my imperfections.

Wild Tip: Practice self-compassion by speaking kindly to yourself, acknowledging your efforts, and allowing yourself to rest when needed. Remember, you are deserving of love and kindness.

Creativity is a powerful way to express our hearts. By embracing creativity I reconnected with my creative passions, through writing, painting scrapbooking and dancing. These creative outlets allowed me to express my emotions and connect with my inner world in a meaningful way.

Wild Tip: Find a creative activity that brings you joy and make time for it regularly. Let go of expectations and simply enjoy the process of creating.

As I continued on this journey, I began to notice profound changes in my life. Living from the heart brought a sense of peace, joy and fulfillment that I had been missing. My relationships deepened, my sense of purpose became clearer and I felt even more connected to the world around me. The journey from head to heart is ongoing, but each step brings me closer to the true essence of the wild and wonderful woman I am!

The journey from head to heart is a transformative path that invites us to live more authentically and joyfully.

By embracing vulnerability, choosing mindfulness, listening to our intuition, connecting with nature, practicing self-compassion and embracing creativity, we can navigate this journey with grace and courage.

Remember, wild and wonderful souls, your heart holds the wisdom and strength you need to live a life of true fulfillment. Trust the journey and let your heart guide you.

Stay wild, stay well, and live with an open heart and curious mind 💖✨
