“Love is the only way to rescue humanity from all its ills.”
                                         Leo Tolstoy

It seems like each week the world reminds us just how divided it is becoming.
To be fully honest—I don’t like the feel of it.

When chaos feels louder than compassion, when judgment rises quicker than grace, when division drowns out connection and when when fear eclipses love  I return to music. Songs have always been the medicine that cuts through the noise, reminding me of what it truly means to be human.
I choose to share these songs because they elicit something raw, inspiring and grounding within me.
They help me cope with the crazy and chaos before the calm.
They remind me to keep my heart open and to extend compassion, even when it feels easier to close it.

Each song carries a similar message: hope, compassion, love, accountability and connection.
A reminder that we are so much more alike than we think.

Music has always been medicine for me.
Each of these songs in the Songs for your Soul playlist holds a piece of humanity—reminders of compassion, courage, justice, hope and love.

These songs remind us of the same truth: we are human, we are connected and love is always the answer.

Love is a word with a profoundly deep meaning.

In our everyday lives, we use the word love in so many ways.
From “I love my family” to “I love running” to “I love pineapple,” we scatter love across both people and the simple joys that brighten our days. Love can be a feeling, an action, an attraction or even a sense of kinship with those we hold close.
There is one kind of love that rises above all the rest. The kind of love that reaches beyond the personal and stretches into the universal: a love for humanity itself.

When I was younger, someone in my family used to say that we should only use the word love for humans and that it should never be used with inanimate objects or things.
That always felt unusual to me.
Now, I openly and unapologetically speak about everything with love and from a place of love, because I believe love is not meant to be confined—it is meant to be lived, breathed and shared freely.

Sometimes referred to as agape love, universal love is the force that binds the universe together.
It is the love of God for humanity, the love of humans for our Creator and the love that flows through our souls for the rest of the human race and all creation. It is powerful indeed.

When the world feels loud, divided and weighed down by judgment, I return to music.
Music has a way of cracking us open, slipping past layers of armour or walls that words alone can’t reach and touching the tender places of our hearts. These songs are more than just melodies or lyrics. They are living reminders of our shared humanity, our longing for peace and our responsibility to one another.

In a world where division often screams louder than unity, may these songs serve as gentle whispers back to your heart to highlight that we belong to each other.

Each one carries a pulse of hope, an echo of compassion, and a spark of love in dark times.
They remind us that even when the world feels fractured, there is still harmony, still beauty, still an invitation to come together.

Before this blog comes to a close, I want to offer you a sacred reminder that music is more than sound, it is soul. Each lyric is like a thread of starlight woven through our hearts by something greater than ourselves. May the words in this blessing wrap around you like a spell of love and light, reminding you that music is a universal magic that binds us together.

May these songs rise like gentle prayers,
reminding us that the language of music is the language of the heart and soul.
May every lyric soften the edges of our humanity,
and every melody carry us closer to compassion.

May we listen not just with our ears but with our hearts,
hearing the echo of love in every chorus,
and the pulse of unity in every beat.

May music remind us that no matter the distance,
no matter the difference,
we are threads in the same sacred song—
woven together in harmony,
belonging to one another, always.

💛 My wish is simple: more connection, less division. More compassion, less hate. More love, always.
