This afternoon I had the honour of sitting in a new circle of women at The Open Mind Space, a serene studio that felt like it was purpose-built for connection and reflection. Walking through the doors of OM Space feels like stepping into a sanctuary where time slows down (figuratively and literally). The atmosphere invites you to take a deep breath, release the weight of the world, embrace stillness and to simply be. This warm, welcoming energy wraps around you, creating an immediate sense of peace and possibility—a space where your heart feels held and your body, mind and soul open to new experiences.
Circle was hosted by the beautiful Amy from Plantfully Amy, the creator behind Sisters in Self-Love—a sisterhood dedicated to helping women cultivate deeper self-love and acceptance. What unfolded in this sacred space was a transformative reminder of the power of women coming together with intention.
Some of the women were brand new to the idea of circle, uncertain of what to expect or how to participate. For some, it was the very first time they had stepped into a space where they were invited to simply be, without expectation or judgment. As we stepped into this shared space of vulnerability and authenticity, those initial hesitations melted away, replaced by connection, courage and compassion began to bloom.
Once in circle, I experienced a deeply symbolic moment: welcoming my bleed within the first half hour of circle. It felt like a deeply grounding connection that reminded me of the natural rhythms of my body and the power of feminine connection. It felt like the perfect alignment with the essence of self-love we had gathered to explore and the divine feminine energy that surrounded and embraced us in the space.
When I returned home, walking into my homely sanctuary after being part of the Sisters in Self-Love Circle, I felt an overwhelming sense of warmth and connection—like my heart had expanded to hold all the love and energy we shared. It was as if the circle had wrapped me in a cocoon of grace, and I am still carrying the glow of our time together as I type these words.
I felt deeply called to honour and share the beautiful happenings of this sacred space—the laughter, the vulnerability, a few tears, the moments of stillness where words were felt rather than spoken, and the collective power of women coming together to nurture, uplift, and celebrate one another. It was a reminder of the magic that unfolds when we step into a space of love and authenticity, allowing ourselves to both give and receive.
There was a beautiful rose for each of the women attending circle to remind us of how life and love beautifully bloom.
We began gently, grounding ourselves in the moment with soothing music filling the air, creating an environment of peace and presence. Amy invited us to close our eyes, breathe deeply, and arrive fully in the space. This simple act of grounding set the tone for the afternoon. In our fast-paced world, how often do we pause to truly connect—with ourselves, with others, and with the present moment? Amy guided us through an intention-setting exercise, inviting us to connect not only with the calm space around us but also with the powerful circle of women beside us.
This simple act of connecting with our individual desires while holding space for one another created a palpable energy. From the first breath, the space became an oasis of calm, where vulnerability was not only welcomed but celebrated.
As we opened our hearts in a heartfelt group discussion, every story was met with open minds and unwavering compassion. For some women, this was their first time sharing so vulnerably, yet the warmth of the circle created a safe space to peel back the layers that often conceal our authenticity. There were no judgments, no interruptions, no need to explain or justify—only acceptance.
We shared struggles—both big and small. Amy reminded us that all struggles are valid, whether they feel as towering as mountains or as subtle as whispers. Each story added to the collective wisdom of the circle, highlighting both our individuality and shared humanity. Every emotion, every story, every experience was embraced as an essential piece of the collective strength we hold as women.
Compassion flowed freely, weaving a safe space where we could release and simply be. In every word spoken, an unspoken truth emerged: vulnerability is a profound gift. By expressing our thoughts and feelings openly, we offered one another not just understanding but a deep sense of belonging.
We delved into topics often left unspoken: the pressures of perfection, the weight of societal expectations, and the inner voices whispering that we are not enough. As we peeled back the layers of our stories, daring to reveal the raw, unpolished parts of ourselves, we discovered that vulnerability is not a weakness—it is a source of immense strength.
It struck me how rare spaces like this are for women. So often, we are conditioned to present ourselves as strong, capable, and polished, even when we feel anything but. Yet here, in this sacred circle, there was no need to perform or pretend.
We could simply be—messy, radiant, and unapologetically real.
The healing power of reflection was present in a journaling exercise that followed was a profound act of self-reflection. Amy encouraged us to write love letters to ourselves—an act that felt both tender and revolutionary.
How often do we pause to offer ourselves the same love and kindness we so freely give to others?
As my pen moved across the page, I found myself acknowledging parts of myself I had ignored. I wrote words of encouragement to the woman I am today and promises to the woman I am becoming. It was a moment of deep connection with myself, a reminder that self-love is not a destination but a practice—a choice we make again and again.
It was time to reflect, release and rise as we moved into a reflective journaling exercise, where each woman wrote a love letters to herself—for many of us, it was the first time we had ever taken a moment to offer ourselves kindness in such a profound way.
Through pen and paper, we honoured the parts of ourselves we often neglect, offering loving-kindness where there had once been judgment and love where there had once been criticism.
Here is an excerpt from my own letter, which I vulnerably yet openly shared a part of in circle, in hope of inspiring you here is the full letter:
“Dear beautiful Hannah, I am in awe of how you show up from a place a love. I see you. I see your courage, your strength and your resilience, even on the days when you may doubt yourself or feel unsure of your path. I see the light within you, even when it feels dim. I see your effort, your determination, and the quiet ways you show up, especially in challenging moments.
Your energy is like no other I have ever experienced. I am inspired by the words you speak and the choices you make to provide yourself with all that you deserve. You are enough—more than enough. You always have been and you always will be.
Today, and each day forward I promise to love you as fiercely as you deserve. I see the value in why you intentionally choose to ask yourself each day ‘where am I not love’ so that you can give and receive from a place of unconditional love.
I see you. I love you for all that you are—for your imperfections, your bravery, and the unique beauty you bring into this world. I love the parts of you that are still growing and the parts that already shine so brightly.
I honour you. I honour your journey, your struggles, your wins and the sacred truth of who you are under all the masks. I honour the love you give, the dreams you carry and the wisdom that is within you. I honour your wild, untamed spirit and the quiet moments of grace you create each day.”
Next came a powerful releasing ceremony. We were each invited to let go of something that no longer served us—whether it was a limiting belief, a fear, a negative thought or an old wound.
We wrote down the limiting beliefs, fears, negative thoughts and burdens that we were ready to release. As we tore up those words and let them fall away, we symbolically released their weight, creating space for the abundance and joy we deserve.
As we let go together, we reminded each other of the beauty and strength we hold when we intentionally release what no longer serves us.
I could feel the collective weight lifting and the energy shifting as we moved through this process—a powerful moment of shared transformation. It was a profound reminder of the beauty and strength we hold when we intentionally release what no longer serves us.
There is something deeply sacred about letting go in the presence of others. It reminds us that we are never alone in our struggles, that we all carry burdens we are ready to set down. By releasing together, we created space—not just in our hearts but in our lives—for the abundance and joy we deserve. This shared act of surrender became a moment of collective renewal, opening the door to new possibilities.
The circle closed in connection with a guided meditation that left us feeling grounded, open and full of love and Self-Love. The words Amy shared were soothing for the soul, reminding us of our worth and our wholeness. As the meditation ended, I felt a collective exhale ripple through the room—a release of tension, discomfort and the masks we so often wear. We surrendered to the stillness, savouring the peace that filled the room, each woman offering thanks for the space, the sisterhood, and the shared experience.
It was a moment to simply be—to honor ourselves and each other as we continued to expand in love,
Afterward, we shared nourishing nibbles and more heartfelt conversation. It was a time to celebrate the bonds we had formed, to honour the courage it took to show up and be seen. It was a moment to simply be—to celebrate the new connection that had been made, to honour ourselves and to honour and each other as we continue to expand in love.
In those moments, the connections we had formed felt unshakable—a reminder of the power of women coming together with intention.
As women, we often lose touch with who we truly are and the innate worth we carry. There is power when women gather with intention. The demands of life can leave us feeling disconnected from our worth, our power, our wild and wonderful hearts. When women come together with intention, something extraordinary happens.
We rediscover our strength, our wildness and our capacity to love—not only ourselves but the world around us. We are reminded that we are not alone and that our shared experiences hold the power to heal.
Circles like Sisters in Self-Love remind us of this truth. They are sacred spaces where authenticity flourishes, vulnerability transforms into strength, and self-love becomes a radical act of reclaiming who we are.
When women come together, we hold the power to change the world in wild and wonderful ways. We remind each other of our resilience, creativity, and capacity for joy. Together, we create sacred spaces where authenticity flourishes, vulnerability transforms into strength, compassion becomes a catalyst for healing and self-love becomes a radical act of reclaiming who we are.
Circles like Sisters in Self-Love embody this truth. They remind us that we are never alone on our journeys. In these sacred spaces, we find connection, courage and the collective strength to embrace our truest selves.
This circle was a gift of love, compassion and care—a reminder of the power of women coming together to listen, to share, to connect and to rise. Some of the women may have been new to the idea of circle, but by the end, we were all bound by the strength of our collective love and wisdom.
I carry the glow of that circle with me still, a light that reminds me of the transformative power of love and connection.
Have you ever experienced the power of women gathering with intention?
What would you release to make space for what you truly deserve?
I would love to hear your reflections as we keep this circle of connection growing.
If you are yet to experience the power of sitting in a circle with other women, I encourage you to seek out or create such a space. Bring your whole self—your joys, your fears, your dreams, your desires—and let yourself be fully seen.
Ask yourself: What am I ready to release? What am I ready to welcome?
Together, we can reflect, release and rise.
Together, we can change the world, one circle at a time.
Together we can find the courage to sit in circles like these, to listen with open hearts and to share with open minds.
Together, we are unstoppable.
