Reflections from the Spirit & Spine Workshop
May 31, 2025How do I even begin to describe something that moved through every single layer of my being?
This afternoon, I had the deep joy and honour of co-facilitating the Spirit & Spine Workshop alongside my dear soul sister, the intuitive and wise Sharnie from Conscious Flow Counselling.
Together, we welcomed 8 gorgeous women ranging from their early 20s to their early 70s into a sacred space of breath, body and becoming.
Each woman said yes to herself.
Yes to trying something new.
Yes to showing up fully.
Yes to feeling deeply.
Yes to releasing what no longer served.
Yes to being moved—emotionally, physically, energetically.
This offering was born from our shared vision: to weave the wisdom of two powerful modalities—breathwork and spinal energetics—into one immersive, heart-led, soul-nourishing experience. A space where transformation could unfold intuitively, gently, and powerfully.
What unfolded was nothing short of soul medicine.
I arrived home with the sun still shining brightly, not just in the sky but in my chest.
A quiet warmth. A soft glow of gratitude still humming through my being.
I was a little tired with what had transpired—I was also full.
Full of presence.
Full of reverence.
Full of that unmistakable light that rises when you witness healing take place right before your eyes.
One participant, who had previously experienced breathwork and spinal energetics separately, shared how excited she was to have an experience like this closer to home—a space where breath and energy work were held together in harmony, with such deep intentionality. Her words that I share near the end of this blog echoed the heartbeat of what we hoped to create.
There is something truly magical about co-creating with a woman you trust.
A woman whose energy flows with yours, whose wisdom complements your own,
and whose heart is devoted to holding space for others to rise.
Sharnie and I moved through the space like water. Fluid, gentle, responsive and deeply attuned.
Meeting. Guiding. Adjusting. Witnessing.
Creating a container that allowed each woman to soften into herself.
Women from different walks of life.
Different stories.
Different bodies.
Yet one shared intention to say yes to themselves.
Yes to showing up.
Yes to being seen.
Yes to going all in.
That is the kind of yes that echoes far beyond the walls of any workshop.
It lives in the breath.
In the spine.
In the sacred remembrance of who we are, beneath all the noise.
The offering began in stillness.
The first song to fill the space was Grounded by East Forest. Earthy, anchoring, steady.
Next came I Am Surrounded by Love by Beautiful Chorus creating a frequency shift that could be felt instantly.
As each woman found her space in the circle, placing down the metaphorical armour she didn’t even realise she had been carrying, a collective softening began to ripple through the room.
We stood together in a circle. Eyes meeting eyes, hearts facing hearts, feet rooted to the earth.
In that moment, something ancient stirred.
The power of presence.
The remembrance of sisterhood.
The magic of shared breath.
To open the space, I guided the group through Breath of Joy. A heart-opening practice from the Ananda Prana Vinyasa lineage.
It is one of my favourite breathing techniques to begin any heart-led journey.
Breath of Joy is more than breath.
It is a dance of reciprocity.
A sacred rhythm of inhale, expand and release.
It oxygenates the brain. Awakens the body. Opens the heart. Lifts the spirit. It invites love, joy, energy and presence to move freely through the body making space for all that is ready to be felt, released and remembered.
Once seated, we invited the women into the breathwork journey by introducing the sacred practice of circular breathing. The technique that would hold and guide them through the next chapter of their inner unfolding.
Circular breathing is a continuous, rhythmic flow of breath with no pause between inhale and exhale. A breath that mirrors the natural cycles of life—flowing, uninterrupted and alive.
A breath that gently whispers;
I trust.
I receive.
I release.
I remain open.
This breath pattern is more than a technique.
It is a bridge between conscious and unconscious, between what has been and what is becoming.
A sacred rhythm that reminds us: there is no true separation.
Stillness and movement.
Holding and letting go.
They are all part of the same spiral.
Even the exhale is simply the path that carries us back to the next inhale.
It is a breath of connection.
Of remembrance.
Of presence.
In this tender moment of arrival, I shared a prayer that had risen from my own heart. A soft invocation for the journey ahead.
I offer it here, in case your heart might be longing for it too:
Welcome to this space of being, breathing and becoming.
This sacred space is a space of deep remembrance, gentle release and powerful reconnection.
A space where breath meets body, where spirit meets spine, where heart meets healing.
I invite you to soften.
To surrender a little more with each breath you take.
Moving around the room with grace and intention is a gift from the earth in the form of Aura-Soma drops and quintessence. These drops are more than scent—they are soul medicine.
A heart-opening elixir to support connection: to self, to spirit and to each other. Let the aroma awaken your third eye, open your energetic gateways and create space for all that is ready to move through you.
I invite you to lay down and find the most comfortable position for your body.
As you lay down a mist of Aura-Soma will be gently sprayed above you providing a cascade of calm.
It will land lightly on you, anchoring you into presence, centering your nervous system and preparing you for the journey ahead.
Let the earth hold you.
Let your spine unfurl.
Let your breath be your guide.
We are about to journey together into the landscapes of your thoughts, the rivers of your emotions, the fires in the jungle of life and the wild wisdom of the innate knowing of your body.
Your spirit will rise, your heart will speak, and your spine will soften and strengthen all with the rhythm of your breath.
Know that you are safe here.
Know that you are held.
Know that you are free to feel, to move, to release, to remember.
Facilitating breathwork is always a sacred experience.
Witnessing Sharnie work her magic with Spinal Energetics while the women breathed deeply was something else entirely.
There is something extraordinary that happens when breath meets spine.
When the body is held in deep safety.
When the nervous system feels met.
When the energy that lives beneath the surface is given permission to rise.
As the time arrived for Sharnie to introduce Spinal Energetics, a subtle yet palpable shift moved through the space. Stepping forward with the grace of someone deeply attuned to bodies, to breath, to energy, to truth.
Sharnie moved like water fluid, present, intuitive.
Weaving her way between mats and memories.
Attuned to the whispers in the fascia, the stories stored in spines.
This is when the emotional, physical and energetic releases began to ripple through the room.
🌿 Breath met resistance and softened it.
🌿 Spine met tension and invited it to move.
🌿 Body met memory and chose to let it go.
Some women trembled.
Some wept.
Some lay in deep stillness, breathing into spaces they hadn’t touched in years.
As Sharnie offered gentle yet potent adjustments, you could feel the frequency rising.
Layers peeling. Truth surfacing. Connection deepening. Sacred and unfiltered tears streaming down open faces.
A powerful dance of release was in full flow.
Between nervous system regulation and emotional liberation.
Between the intelligence of the body and the wisdom of the soul.
Between who we have been and who we are becoming.
Some women were stepping into breathwork for the very first time.
Others had danced with their breath for years.
Here in this sacred space, each one of them met herself anew.
That is the medicine.
One woman, who had previously experienced both breathwork and Spinal Energetics practices in separate spaces shared via email how excited she was to have an experience like this closer to home.
She spoke about how seamlessly the two modalities were woven together—how the container felt deep, gentle and incredibly potent. Her words were a beautiful reflection of what it means to bring powerful practices into everyday access, into community, into the spaces we live.
Thank you so much for holding such a safe space. It was an honour to be held and nurtured. The combination of both breath and energetics was extremely powerful and so beautiful to surrender to.
Hannah, I am in awe of how transformational your breathwork session was - thank you for supporting and guiding me throughout, with your encouragement and touch I was able to go deeper then I ever have before and connect with a part of me I dreamed to meet while letting go of the other.
Sharnie, you have such a natural and gentle way with moving what felt like energy through my body, I could feel you work with areas that I knew stored pain that I wasn’t even aware of before - thankyou for lifting and lightening my body, soul and mind.
It's hard to put into words but this experience was truly a gift, one I'll hold very close to my heart.
Please keep changing lives and in doing so changing the world.
You are both magic.
The consciously curated playlist I created was its own kind of medicine.
Each song intentionally selected to carry the breath, to hold the emotion, to move the energy.
Some songs brought tears.
Others unearthed memories.
Many sparked a deep sense of reconnection to life, to love, to joy, to self.
Music is a frequency that moves what words cannot.
It bypasses the mind and speaks directly to the soul.
Woven with care from beginning to end, the playlist offered more than melody.
It offered holding.
It offered release.
It offered remembrance.
From ethereal tones that opened the heart, to grounding rhythms that anchored us into our bodies, every note invited us deeper.
Deeper into emotion.
Deeper into presence.
Deeper into healing.
Sometimes, healing doesn’t need a voice. It just needs a song.
Sound has a beautiful way of speaking without words.
The practices we moved through were never just about energising or calming.
They were invitations to return to balance, to breath, to body.
Each inhale, each wave of movement, was a quiet remembering:
That strength lives in softness.
That wisdom is found in stillness.
That healing isn’t loud it is felt.
As the journey came to a close we welcomed the medicine of healing with and through sound.
A gong from Gongdwana reverberated through the space, its frequencies weaving their way into every cell, every subtle body.
It was too beautiful not to pause and witness the beauty of the gong and other instruments that added even more magic to this sound experience.
The vibration moved through skin, bone and soul.
It felt like being held by the universe itself.
Nourishing. Grounding. Expanding.
The sound held what words couldn’t.
It helped integrate everything that had moved through.
A sonic exhale.
A sacred goodbye.
A full-bodied “thank you.”
Before the workshop, I felt a familiar flutter in my heart and gut. A dance between grounded readiness and sacred nerves.
Excitement. Reverence.
That beautiful tension that always rises before something true.
During the session, I felt awe. Complete presence. Flow.
Attuned to the rhythm of the room, to the intuitive grace of myself & Sharnie and to the waves of breath and emotion moving through each woman.
Humbled by the innate wisdom of the body through its ability to alchemise, release and return.
After the offering I felt stillness.
Not a tiredness, but a fullness.
A deep, grounded joy.
Clarity in my chest and a quiet knowing in my bones.
This is the work I am here to do.
To co-create spaces of wild wellness.
To guide others back home to themselves.
To witness women saying yes to their healing and truly meaning it.
To walk beside them, breath by breath as they remembered their own power.
The feedback we received was soul-affirming. These women left the space feeling lighter. Clearer.
More connected to themselves, to their breath, to their energy and to the life flowing within and around them.
One woman shared, “I didn’t know what I was holding until I let it go. I feel like I have returned to myself.”
Another shared that her “heart felt cracked open in the most beautiful way and her body felt like it had finally exhaled.”
This was more than just another workshop.
This was a homecoming.
To breath.
To body.
To spine.
To spirit.
To the wild, wise self within.
Sharnie and I are so deeply grateful to have co-created this space.
To guide, hold and witness each woman as she met herself in a new way.
When breath meets body and spirit meets spine we don’t just heal. We remember.
I am so grateful to have walked this path beside Sharnie and these radiant women.
Until next time,
Keep breathing.
Keep feeling.
Keep saying yes to yourself.
With wild love,
Hannah x
