Listen to Your Heart
Jun 22, 2024This week has been filled with love; there were some heart-wrenching moments but most of the week filled with awe-inspiring love. In a moment, you will be invited to reconnect with your heart centre by taking time to explore the practice of listening to your heart and embracing your innate wisdom. By tuning into this powerful source within, we can all navigate the challenges of life with clarity and confidence, love and laughter.
Your heart is more than just a physical organ, so much more; it is a source of deep intuition and wisdom. Listening to your heart involves quieting the mind, tuning into your inner feelings & sensations and trusting the guidance and lessons that emerge.
Creating space for stillness is the best place to start connecting with your heart. I know how challenging it can be to find moments of stillness - these moments of stillness are essential for connecting with the wisdom of your heart. Dedicate time each day to be still and quiet. This could be through meditation, deep breathing practices or sitting in nature. By creating space for stillness, you allow your inner voice to surface and be heard.
You might prefer to practice mindful listening by paying attention to your inner thoughts and feelings without judgment. When faced with a decision or challenge, take a moment to tune into your heart. Ask yourself how you truly feel about the situation and listen for the subtle cues your body provides. These feelings can manifest as a sense of peace, excitement, discomfort or unease.
Your intuition is a direct line to the wisdom of your heart. Trusting it can be daunting, especially when it goes against logic or external advice. Your body knows what is best for you in all moments. Reflect on past experiences where following your intuition led to positive experiences or outcomes. These memories can be used to build confidence in your ability to trust your inner guidance and listen to your heart talk.
Journaling is a powerful tool for accessing the wisdom of your heart to gain clarity. Write down your thoughts, feelings and any questions you have. Allow your writing to flow without filtering or changing it. The act of putting pen to paper can reveal insights and clarity that you might not have discovered any other way. By reviewing your journal entries you will be able to identify patterns and messages from your heart.
Your body is a vessel of wisdom, constantly sending you signals about what it needs, how it feels, and all that it desires (I will share more about this next week). Choosing to practice body awareness by tuning into the physical sensations you experience. Notice how your body responds to different thoughts and situations. A sense of lightness or tension can provide valuable clues about what resonates with your inner being.
Your emotions are powerful messengers from your heart. Embrace all your emotions rather than suppressing or ignoring them. When you feel joy, sadness, anger or fear, take a moment to explore what these emotions are trying to communicate to you. Understanding and honouring all emotions can lead to profound self-awareness and deep inner healing.
Visualisation & affirmations can support you to connect with the desires and intentions of your heart. Visualise yourself living in alignment with your true nature and achieving your goals. Create affirmations that resonate with the wisdom of your heart, such as “I allow the wisdom of my heart to guide me”, “I openly listen to and trust my heart”, “My heart is a deep source of wisdom and understanding” or “The answers I seek are within my heart.” Repeating affirmations like these daily will reinforce this connection to your heart.
Introspection can be a sacred space for deep reflection and connection with your heart. Spend time alone in nature, your home or any place where you feel peaceful and undisturbed. Introspection allows you to disconnect from external influences and tune into your inner world. Use this time to reflect and be present with yourself, your heart and your breath. By being present you can open your heart with more grace and ease.
Another beautiful way to connect with your heart is through dance. Dance is not just a is a soulful expression that can bridge the gap between your body, your mind & your heart. When you dance, you move from a place of feeling rather than thinking, allowing your heart to guide your movements. Put on your favourite music and let your body move freely. Pay attention to how each movement feels and let your heart lead the way. Dancing can help release pent-up emotions and bring joy, making it a powerful practice for connecting with your heart.

Listening to your heart requires patience. Sometimes, the answers you seek may not come immediately. Trust that your inner wisdom will reveal itself in its own time. Be patient with yourself and the process, knowing that each step you take brings you closer to clarity and alignment.
Bring awareness to your heart. Your heart is beating energy, light and love through your whole body. When you bring your attention to your heart, the intentional focus brings your heart into a state of coherence and love. This love will start to flow into your energy field and surround you with love and light.
Think love (think about someone or something you truly love) – your pet, a pretty flower, a new book. Keep thinking about this thing that you truly love. Your heart will soon start feeling lighter, enriched and more open.
Ultimately, listening to your heart is about living authentically. This means making choices that resonate with your values & beliefs, even if they differ from societal expectations or norms. Embrace your uniqueness and honour the path that feels right for you. Authentic living brings a sense of fulfillment and joy that comes from being true to yourself.
By choosing the practice of listening to your heart, you can navigate life with fluidity and clarity. Trust your innate wisdom and allow it to guide you toward a life that aligns with your deepest desires and highest potential. Remember, your heart always knows the way.
Stay Wild and wonderful,
Hannah
