In the fast-paced world we live in, it’s easy to roll out of bed, reach for your phone and get swept into the whirlwind of demands before you have even had a chance to connect with yourself.

Sunshine or rain, each day you get to choose one or multiple rituals or routines to support your day from the moment you wake.

Here are some gentle tips for creating a morning routine that sparks energy, focus, love and positivity—so you can rise each day feeling grounded, inspired and aligned.

Your breath is your anchor—a bridge between the body and mind. Starting your day with intentional breathwork allows you to breathe to ground and energise, calming your nervous system, centring your thoughts, and connecting you with the present moment.

Sit quietly and inhale deeply through your nose for a count of four.

Hold your breath for a count of seven.

Exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of eight.

Repeat for 3-5 minutes, allowing each breath to bring clarity and energy to your mind and body.

Morning movement awakens your body and boosts endorphins, setting the stage for a vibrant day. It doesn’t have to be a long workout—just five minutes of stretching or a brisk walk can work wonders when you move with joy and purpose for your brilliant body.

Here is a visualisation exercise you can put into practice straight away: Close your eyes and imagine your ideal day unfolding. Picture yourself moving through your tasks with ease, confidence, and joy.

Nourish your body with care as it craves and deserves mindful nourishment in the morning. A balanced breakfast provides the energy and focus you need to feel grounded, fuel your brilliance, and tackle the day ahead.

Suggestions for a nourishing start:

An uplifting and hydrating mix with natural electrolytes and full of sunshine energy.

🍓 A warm bowl of oatmeal topped with fresh fruit, cinnamon, and crushed nuts or seeds

🥣 Chia pudding soaked overnight in almond milk with vanilla and topped with kiwi or mango

🍋 Lemon water or herbal tea to gently wake up your digestive system and support hydration

🍳 Avocado on sourdough toast with a poached egg and a sprinkle of hemp seeds for protein and healthy fats

🥥 Coconut yogurt bowl layered with berries, granola, and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup

🍠 Sweet potato toast topped with tahini, banana slices, and a sprinkle of cinnamon

🧉 Warm adaptogenic latte (like Ashwagandha, Match or Reishi) with oat or almond milk for calm energy

 I have found that my mornings are my sanctuary, a time to nourish my body, mind and heart before the demands of the day begin. While every day is slightly different, here’s a glimpse into my current morning routine:

As part of my mindful wake-up, I begin by taking five deep breaths before getting out of bed. This simple practice helps me ground myself and set an intentional tone for the day ahead.

With my morning movement practice I spend 10–15 minutes doing gentle yoga or stretching to wake up my body. Some mornings, I’ll add a run or a walk outdoors to connect with nature and boost my mood.

With a warm cup of herbal tea or a cold-pressed juice in hand, I settle into a moment of journaling and reflection. I start with three things I’m grateful for, followed by a quick check-in on my intentions and goals for the day.

I enjoy a nourishing and scrumptious breakfast—whether it’s overnight oats, avocado on sourdough, or muesli—depending on how I feel. While eating, I take a moment to appreciate the food and express gratitude for the nourishment it provides.

I take a few minutes for affirmations and visualisation—speaking my intentions out loud and focusing on the energy I want to carry into the day. Then, I close my eyes and visualise my day unfolding with purpose, grace, and ease.

The magic of morning is in hw present you are rather than how much you do.

What matters most is the intention behind them. By creating a routine that aligns with your values and goals, you empower yourself to approach each day with clarity, energy and purpose.
