Ignite Energy
Apr 28, 2025
Let’s talk about energy—that magical, sometimes elusive force that fuels everything we do.
Energy is what gets us out of bed in the morning (well, most mornings!), helps us chase our dreams and keeps us present for the people and passions we love.
How often do you feel like you are running on empty?
I’ve been there too.
That feeling where no amount of coffee, cacao or cold-pressed juice can fix the fatigue or the emotional drain that keeps you from feeling like yourself.
Here’s the thing: energy isn’t just about powering through the day. Energy is also about creating habits, routines and practices that replenish your life force and keep you feeling vibrant and alive. Trust me, it’s totally possible to reignite that boundless energy within you.
Your life force is what keeps you going—it’s the spark that fuels your body, mind, heart and ssoul. Think of it as the energy reservoir that powers everything from your physical activity to your emotional resilience. When your life force is strong, you feel unstoppable, ready to take on the world. When it’s depleted, even the smallest tasks can feel monumental.
Life is about to kick more than just “getting more done.” It’s about creating energy that allows you to enjoy your life, fuel your passions and stay connected to what matters most. As Tony Schwartz so wisely said, “Energy, not time, is the fundamental currency of high performance.”
How on earth do we ignite that energy when it feels like the spark has gone out?
Get ready to dive into some tips that will help you recharge your life force and keep it burning bright.
Prioritise quality sleep as sleep is where the magic happens. It’s not just rest; it’s when your body repairs itself and recharges your energy reserves. Think of sleep as plugging yourself in for a full battery recharge. Create a bedtime routine you actually look forward to—dim the lights, swap your phone for a book, or try some calming stretches. Sleep isn’t a luxury; it’s your secret weapon.
Let’s be real—what you put into your body matters. Think of food as fuel and nourish your body. When you are running on junk food or skipping meals, your energy is going to crash. Focus on vibrant, nutrient-dense foods: colourful veggies, fresh fruits, lean proteins and healthy fats. Oh, and don’t forget to hydrate! Sometimes we mistake thirst for fatigue.
Movement is energy in motion. Each time you move your body be sure to move with intention. Whether it’s a yoga session, a walk/run around your neighborhood or a dance party in your living room, moving your body boosts endorphins and keeps your energy flowing. The key to moving with inge intention is to find movement that feels fun and sustainable—it shouldn’t feel like a chore.
Physical energy is important, but let’s not forget emotional energy. Emotional energy holds an invisible power.
Ever notice how a single negative interaction can drain you faster than running a marathon?
Emotional well-being is just as crucial for recharging your life force.
Set standards as saying “no” is an act of self-care. Whether it’s declining that extra project at work or protecting your downtime, setting standards allows you to prioritise all that truly matters without feeling stretched thin.
Cultivate joy like you would a garden—tenderly, intentionally, and with love. Joy is more than a fleeting emotion; it’s a state of being that nourishes the soul and lights up the heart. Joy is like fuel for your soul, and it’s something we can intentionally nurture. When was the last time you laughed until your stomach ached or did something simply because it made you feel alive? Whether it’s dancing around the kitchen, watching your favourite comedy, soaking in a bubble bath or spending in time with loved ones, joy has a way of igniting your emotional energy and reminding you what it feels like to be fully here.
Emotional baggage is heavy. Let go of anything that drains you. Resentment, negativity and self-doubt are energy vampires. Start small: journal your thoughts, talk to someone you trust or practice forgiveness. Letting go creates space for positivity and renewal.
Sometimes the best way to recharge is to simply step outside. Nature is like a giant battery for your life force. Nature in my body and mind is the ultimate recharger.
Each and every day spend time outdoors. Whether it’s a hike, a walk on the beach, or just sitting under a tree, nature has a way of grounding us and reminding us of the simple pleasures of life. Bonus points if you take your shoes off and feel the earth beneath your bare feet—grounding literally recharges your body.
A little sunshine can do wonders for your energy and mood. Soak up the sun as Vitamin D is a natural booster, so get outside and soak up those rays (safely, of course).
Once you have recharged, the goal is to keep that energy flowing. Take time to protect and sustain your energy. Think of it like maintaining a fire—you have to keep adding fuel and protecting it from the wind.
Pay attention to what your body is telling you. Tune into your body. Feeling sluggish? Maybe you need more sleep or better nutrition. Feeling restless? It might be time to move or reset your focus. Listening to your body is the ultimate act of self-awareness.
Technology is a wonderful tool, but it is also a sneaky energy drain. Unplug to recharge by setting aside time to disconnect from screens and reconnect with yourself, your loved ones or the world around you.
Practice gratitude as gratitude is an energy amplifier. Take a moment each day to grace yourself with gratitude by choosing to reflect on what you’re thankful for, whether it’s the big wins or the small joys. Gratitude shifts your mindset and renews your emotional energy.
Stay inspired as Inspiration is one of the most powerful ways to ignite energy. Surround yourself with things that uplift you: books, music, podcasts, or even a vision board. Keep the fire of possibility burning bright.
I used to think energy was something you either had or didn’t—like a lucky genetic trait. Over time, I have come to realise it is something we create. There were moments when I felt completely drained, stuck in a cycle of overworking and neglecting rest. It wasn’t sustainable, and I knew something had to change.
I started small.
A morning walk here, a little breathwork there. I swapped fast food for colourful salads and gave myself permission to rest without guilt. These little changes began to ignite something within me—a sense of vitality I hadn’t felt in years.
Maintaining my energy is now a daily practice. It’s not perfect, but it’s intentional. Every single time I feel that spark ignite, I am reminded that energy is something we can all cultivate with care and commitment.
Here is a little challenge for you.
Think about your own energy. What habits are draining you? What small shifts can you make to reignite your vitality?
Remember, boundless energy isn’t about doing more—it’s about fueling yourself in a way that feels sustainable and joyful.
You have everything you need to ignite your life force and shine as your brightest self.
