Calling in the 5 Dimensions of Self-Care
May 29, 2024Hi there radiant souls!
Self-care is an essential practice that nurtures every aspect of our being.
SELF-CARE [Self’kâr] the practice of taking an active role in protecting one's own well-being and happiness, in particular during periods of stress.
This post is coming to you while I am wrapped in a warm blanket on the lounge - this week I am turning to self-care and self-love a little more than I routinely do with a horrendous virus that placed me in emergency in the early hours of Monday morning. For those of you who know me well I am rarely at the doctor let alone presenting to emergency.
I know now what is going on with my system and am grateful for the warm cup of cordyceps I just poured to support my energy and a 5 day journey back to the heart with a dear soul sister @circleoflifewithellen that commenced this morning. You can tune into Day 1 to bring a smile to your face and extra warmth to your heart. This beautiful somatic (body) practice of a smile, is simple yet so powerful. An invitation that allowed me to create a sense of safety, support and connection with myself, my heart and the environment around me.
A big thank you for the beautiful bone broth and boiled eggs that were dropped to my front door by another gorgeous friend, along with a bottle of Immune Support made with love by the talented Kristen from Bella Oils.

Integrating the 5 Dimensions of Self-Care
Achieving holistic well-being involves integrating all 5 dimensions of self-care into your daily life. Identify activities, practices or rituals that resonate with you in each dimension of self-care. Make a plan to incorporate these practices into your daily or weekly routine. If you do not take time to care for yourself you have the potential to breakdown or burnout.
It is time to start treating ourselves with the same level of care, attention and respect that we give to others. Self-care is an act of self-love and self-respect.
Start with small, achievable and realistic goals to gradually build up your self-care routine. Consistency is key to reaping the benefits of self-care. Pay attention and listen to your body, mind, heart and soul, and adjust your self-care practices as needed. Your needs may change over time, and it’s important to stay attuned to them.
Schedule time for self-care activities and treat them as essential appointments with yourself. Make self-care a non-negotiable part of your life. Seek Support & Surround yourself with supportive individuals who encourage your self-care practices. Share your journey with friends, family, or a supportive community.
By embracing the 5 dimensions of self-care, you can nurture every aspect of your being and create a harmonious, fulfilling life.
