A Soulful Chat on The Motivate Collective Podcast
Sep 05, 2025
Last week I had the honour of being on The Motivate Collective Podcast and the episode went live yesterday.
It was one of those conversations that left me buzzing with energy yet grounded in truth, a reminder that when we share stories, something magical happens.
Melanie Suzanne Wilson and I explored the multifaceted world of intuitive wellness in a dialogue that felt both expansive and deeply personal.
We spoke about Vision Therapy, Intuitive Guidance, the impact of trauma on our perception and the sacred role of self-care in creating sustainable success.

I shared my journey as both a Vision Therapist and an Intuitive Wellness Guide, placing emphasis on the deep connection between emotional health and physical well-being.
Together, we discussed the significance of intuition in therapy, the challenges of navigating interdisciplinary relationships with health professionals and the role of nutrition and movement in achieving holistic wellness.

The conversation culminated in a return to the core wisdom that lives within each of us—intuition, innate wisdom, growth, mindset, emotional intelligence and self-care.
A gentle reminder that sustainable success isn’t found outside of ourselves but cultivated from within.
It has been said before, and I will say it again: I am a multi-passionate woman.
I proudly wear many hats as an ACBO Accredited Vision Therapist, Intuitive Wellness Guide, Certified Practitioner & Coach of Neuro Transformation Therapy (NTT), Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP), Human Design Chart Reader, Facilitator of Breathwork for Emotional Release and a forever student of life.
Each of these is not a separate identity, but a thread in the tapestry of who I am. Together, they weave into a practice where science meets soul, where therapy meets intuition and where the human experience is honoured in all its complexity.
Every season brings new lessons.
Every person I meet becomes a teacher in some way.
Every challenge or joy holds wisdom if we are willing to see it.
Being multi-passionate is not about being scattered. It is about recognising that every part of us is valid, interconnected and worthy of expression. It is about embracing the fullness of who we are, trusting that each path we walk is part of the same journey home to ourselves.
Here are some of the threads that wove through the podcast conversation—each one a reminder of how healing is never one-dimensional but a tapestry of science, soul and lived experience:
Understanding Vision Therapy is about integration, not just sight; how the brain, body, breath and behaviour come together to shape how we move through life.
The connection between trauma and vision as vision is not only about what we see but how we perceive and experience the world; trauma often narrows both our visual and emotional periphery.
Integrating intuition with mainstream therapy by building bridges rather than walls between evidence-based practice and the quiet guidance of inner knowing.
Navigating interdisciplinary support through recognising that collaboration across health professions creates more complete and compassionate healing.
The role of breathwork and being mindful while regulating, releasing and re-centring to return to balance.
The Wild Woman Gateway is a sanctuary for self-discovery, where science meets soul and where we honour the wild wisdom within.
Emotional release and physical pain as the body often speaks what the mouth does not; unexpressed emotions surface in the tissues.
Reigniting inner fire and connection while remembering how to return to ourselves, to what makes us feel alive and whole.
Nourishment and Self-care because depletion cannot create healing so we must tend to body, heart, mind and spirit.
Sustainable success over rushing, but finding rhythm, flow and alignment in the journey.

Vision is about so much more than how clearly you can read the letters on a chart.
As a Vision Therapist, I am often asked what vision therapy actually is.
Many imagine it’s about improving eyesight or practising eye exercises to sharpen focus. Vision therapy goes far beyond that.
It is about how the brain, body, breath and behaviour come together to process and respond to life itself.

Vision therapy integrates the brain, body and emotions. It shapes the way we read, move, learn, focus, balance and relate to the world around us.
It’s not only about eyesight—it’s about insight.
It’s not only about eyesight—it’s about insight.
When trauma enters the picture, vision shifts.
Trauma can shrink our emotional and physical periphery, narrowing not only our sight but also our perspective of life. It teaches the body to brace, tighten and anticipate danger.
This is why trauma-informed approaches are essential in therapy—it’s never just about vision, it’s about whole-person wellness.
Here are some realities that continue to reveal themselves time and again.
These are not theories, but lived insights and experiences and puzzles pieces of life I have witnessed in practice.

🧩 Connection and sharing stories are powerful for healing.
🧩 Trauma can shrink our emotional and physical periphery.
🧩 Self-care practices are essential for maintaining balance.
🧩 Intuition plays a crucial role in effective therapy.
🧩 Emotions that are not expressed can manifest as physical pain.
🧩 The body can only hold so much tension and discomfort.
🧩 Finding the right questions to ask clients is vital.
🧩 Nutrition and movement significantly impact overall wellness.
🧩 Pausing and listening to our bodies is fundamental for success.
These are not just professional observations, they are lived truths and felt sensations.
Time and again, I see that when we pause, when we listen, when we trust the signals of the body healing begins to flow.

We all carry intuition within us.
We all hold wisdom in our cells.
Taking a moment to pause is so basic, so human—and so often overlooked.
The answers are not out there somewhere; they are already in us, waiting to be honoured.

As an Intuitive Wellness Guide, I am not here to hand out rigid prescriptions or tell people what they “could” do or “should” do.
Instead, I listen.
I listen deeply to their words, to their energy, to their body language and to the spaces in between.
I listen deeply to their words, to their energy, to their body language and to the spaces in between.
We all have intuition within us.
It’s not something reserved for the spiritually inclined or the “gifted.”
It’s human.
It’s basic yet extraordinarily brilliant.
It’s available to all of us when we learn to pause and listen inwardly.
Taking a moment to pause is so simple, so ordinary and so profoundly healing.
In that stillness, we begin to notice the whispers of our own inner wisdom.
In that stillness, we begin to notice the whispers of our own inner wisdom.
The answers we have been searching for so often reveal themselves not in noise but in silence.
The wisdom is already in us, waiting patiently to be heard.
The wisdom is already in us, waiting patiently to be heard.
In life, therapy and within the world of intuitive guidance, intuition becomes a compass.
It guides me to know when to ask the right question, when to pause, when to gently challenge and when to simply hold space.
Intuition is the bridge between what is seen and what is felt, between science and soul.
Intuition is the bridge between what is seen and what is felt, between science and soul.
Science is starting to support intuition more than we often acknowledge.
The nervous system speaks through its patterns, mirror neurons reflect shared emotion and interoception teaches us to sense what is happening inside the body.

All of these are subtle guides that shape the therapeutic process.
When we honour intuition healing unfolds not as a formula, but as a journey for ourselves and our clients.
You might be wondering why I am so passionate about intuitive connection and holistic wellness.
There was a lapse in the recording where I expanded on this, so I’m putting it into writing for now—knowing it will soon be spoken into words.
The reason is simple: I have seen and experienced first-hand what happens when we abandon ourselves.
When we live only in stress or survival mode—disconnected from intuition, ignoring self-care, neglecting self-love we burn out.
We numb out.
We numb out.
We space out.
We wipe out.
We forget who we are.
When we silence intuition, we drift.
When we neglect self-care, we deplete.
When we abandon self-love, we settle for less than we deserve.
When we choose to come home to ourselves—through rituals, through breath, through heart coherence practices we remember.
We remember our power, our softness and our capacity to hold both.
We remember that self-love is not indulgence but sustenance.
When we cultivate it, we shift from survival into thriving.
From this place, we become more compassionate, more courageous and more connected to others.
Melanie spoke so beautifully into the concept of sustainable success, and I couldn’t agree more. There was a lapse in the recording where I expanded on this, so I am putting it into writing now—knowing it will soon be spoken into words.
For me, sustainable success is living, loving, and creating in a way that fuels rather than depletes. It’s not about pushing until we break—it’s about choosing rhythms that we can actually sustain. It’s honouring rhythm over hustle, balance over burnout, and alignment over achievement at all costs.
Sustainable success is resourcing ourselves with rituals, listening to our intuition, and anchoring into practices that hold us through both chaos and calm. It’s success that integrates brain and body, heart and soul, ambition and rest.
True success doesn’t just look good on the outside—it feels nourishing on the inside. It’s the kind of success that can be carried across seasons of life without losing your health, your joy, or your sense of self.
Self-care is not a luxury—it is a lifeline.
For me, it looks like journaling with ritual and intention, breathwork for emotional release, and movement in many forms—running, cardio (yes, I am one of those people who jumps for joy at cardio workouts!), and intuitive dance that lets my body speak freely.
My mornings often begin slowly, with the soft glow of candlelight, a warm cup of tea, a few deep breaths, and gratitude journaling to set the tone for the day.
My evenings invite winding down with essential oils, moonlit walks or simply sitting in stillness under the sparkling stars in the velvet night sky.
These practices are not about perfection—they are about presence.
They aren’t elaborate; they are intentional. They anchor me, remind me of who I am, and create space for presence in my days.
I have learned that wellness is found in the small yet sacred moments of everyday life.
One of my favourite and most heart-led examples of intention in action is The Wild Woman Gateway itself.
It began as a journal entry, a dream scribbled onto paper.
It began as a journal entry, a dream scribbled onto paper.
Six months later, she was real.
That is the power of holding intention through daily practices—watching words blossom into worlds.
I have witnessed again and again how journaling with ritual can shape reality.
The body can only hold so much tension, but paper can hold our release.
The body can only hold so much tension, but paper can hold our release.
Journaling creates space inside us to breathe, to imagine and to create anew.
Wild Wellness with Hannah has always been about this dance between brain and body, breath and behaviour, science and soul.
At the end of the day, the world doesn’t need more hustle—it needs more humans who are regulated, resourced and rooted in love.
Breathing is a life-force that is always available, waiting for us in every moment. Breathwork has become one of my deepest tools for emotional release, nervous system activation, regulation, support and inner connection.
It is more than just a practice for the yoga mat or while doing taking part in meditation, it’s a practice for life.
It is more than just a practice for the yoga mat or while doing taking part in meditation, it’s a practice for life.
Each inhale invites expansion.
Each exhale offers release.
Every conscious cycle of breath is a gentle invitation to return home to ourselves.
I invite you to pause today and each day moving forward.
Take one deep, nourishing breath.
Write a single line in your journal.
Pour yourself one cup of tea or heart-opening cacao.
Light a candle or diffuse your favourite essential oil and allow stillness to meet you.
These simple acts may seem small, yet they are profound.
They are the anchors of sustainable success—the daily rituals that remind us who we are and bring us back to centre, again and again.
At the heart of it all, my work always circles back to connection, intuition, self-care and self-love for the lifelines they are.
The world doesn’t need more hustle.
The world needs more humans who are regulated, resourced and rooted in love.
Wild Wellness with Hannah is about the dance between brain and body, breath and behaviour, science and soul.
May this conversation feel like a campfire chat, where sparks of wisdom rise into the night sky and remind us that stories carry medicine.
May the embers of connection glow in your heart, rekindling the truth that you are never alone, that your voice, your vision, your intuition matters.
May you lean into growth with both courage and grace, trusting that every season
whether fire or ash is shaping you into who you are becoming.
May passion ignite in your belly,
guiding you to create, to love, to move, to serve, in ways that feel sustainable and soul-aligned.
May wisdom whisper through every breath,
every pause, every journaled word, every shared story— reminding you that the answers are already within.
Carry this flame forward.
Let it light your path.
Let it light the paths of those you meet.
